Peak Cluster Pipeline
I have been working alongside my colleague Matthew Patrick has been in contact with CEO of Peak Cluster asking for a meeting, and I am fully supportive of Matthew’s approach. I have also raised the issue with the Council and the DESNZ and am happy to forward their reply to you when we get it. Although the proposed pipeline will not go through the Birkenhead constituency as currently drawn up, I am concerned about the impact this will have on the Wirral’s diverse natural beauty. The following is a statement Matthew has put out on the issue and I will work with him going forward on this issue:
”Many of you have been in touch with me about the Peak Cluster Carbon Capture project. I have seen the proposals just as you have. I have written to the CEO of Peak Cluster to ask for a meeting, to find out more details about the proposals and to discuss some of the concerns that have been raised with me. I am committed to tackling climate change so that families across the Wirral and the country can continue to enjoy our beautiful environment for generations to come. It remains my priority that there is meaningful consultation with our community, especially in regard to the precious nature we have here. I would encourage everyone to engage with the ongoing consultation process, and would thank those who have already been in touch.”
I would just echo the point that if you have not already raised concerns with the consultation, you can do so here
