Alison McGovern
Speaking about the decision taken by Peers yesterday to delay the government proposals to cuts to tax credit Alison McGovern MP said: “My constituents have been in touch with me with their concerns about these government proposals and I have spoken to them directly to hear how they will be affected. There is huge concern from Wirral families. I hope the Chancellor will finally see sense following the votes in the House of Lords last night and that he will think again about these damaging cuts.
Ms McGovern added: “There is an overwhelming feeling that these cuts are unfair and penalise low earning families. I welcomed the Lords decision yesterday and hope it will lead to the government changing its stance on these proposals. I will continue to campaign against these changes that have been proposed by the government. I want to hear from families who would be affected by the government planned cuts. If you want to tell me your concerns directly I am holding a meeting this Friday at 1PM in my constituency. Please call my office on 0151 645 6590 for further details or email me.
