Under legislation an individual must be the age of 18 in order to vote. The idea of changing this age to 16 has led parties to come out in favour of this idea or completely reject the proposition, as 16 is seen as an age of  little understanding and knowledge.

In my opinion I think the UK voting age should be reduced to 16. Personally I feel that youths nowadays have a more mature mind-set and know the importance of voting.

In the eyes of the law, 16 year olds are adults, they can get married, leave home, get a job, even join the army, but the one thing they can’t do, is vote, something granted to all other adults, it is unfair that in practically every sense a 16 year old is an adult, but not in the political way.
