Student Placements

I have a number of people who volunteer regularly – in both my New Ferry and Westminster offices – including students from local and London universities. It can be convenient for students or others to assist for one day per week to build up their work experience. Along with other regular volunteers, they provide us with invaluable support.

However, the number of people who can join the team is limited by office space and resources. Volunteers will need to be security cleared by the parliamentary authorities. If you volunteer with us, we will provide you with the form.

We aim to recruit volunteers during the summer in advance of the parliamentary session ahead. If you get in touch at another part of the year, it may be some time before we have volunteer opportunities.

If you would like to volunteer:

- Please get in touch with my office on 0151 645 6590 or contact me online and let us know what your aims are, and how long you wish to volunteer for.

- Have in mind the aspects of experience that you are seeking to build up, and share with us your political interests.

- We will then let you know whether we can help, and may ask you to come and meet the team for a brief chat to get to know each other.

- We may not be able to help immediately, and will occasionally suggest that you could volunteer in the near future.

We are able to provide volunteers with reasonable travel and lunch expenses.

If you are at school you might be interested in my short term work experience placements, or if you would like to volunteer to help the local Labour Party, please fill out this form.
