I am very much looking forward to taking part in an abseil this coming Saturday 4 July to raise money for Birkenhead Priory.
I will be joining others to participate in the abseil down St Mary’s Tower.
It promises to be a great day with the event being promoted as a “Picnic in the Priory Day” for all the family to come along and enjoy. The abseil itself will be a 22m drop but you don’t need to abseil to come along and take part in the celebrations.
Birkenhead Priory is of great importance to Wirral’s heritage and The Friends of the Williamson and Wirral Museums are a voluntary organisation with a remit to fundraise for the Gallery and Birkenhead Priory.
The event will run from 10 AM until 6 PM and I look forward to seeing people showing their support for the Priory whilst having what is sure to be an enjoyable day. It is free entry and people are encouraged to bring along their own picnics. Live music, a vintage tearoom and Vintage vehicles will be just some of the attractions provided on the day.
The event has a fundraising website if you wish to donate and this can be found at www.justgiving.com/friendsofthewilliamson
More information about the history of the Priory and the event itself can be found on the Priory’s website www.thebirkenheadpriory.org
I would like to wish the other people taking part good luck with their abseils.
