You will be aware that Theresa May has now gone back on her repeated promises not to call a General Election and said that on June 8, the country will go back to the polls.
In Wirral South we have a strong, mobilised membership who speak to our residents on the doorstep or telephone, deliver leaflets, and carry out lots of other hard work every election, which has kept Wirral South Labour since 1997, defying the national swing.
And I have to ask for your help again. Only together can we make sure this country has a Brexit plan that benefits the whole country. Only together can we let the people of Wirral South know that we have a plan that will give opportunities to the young people of our area. With your help, we can let the Government know that they have to back local businesses, from Unilever and Vauxhall Motors to small businesses on our high streets, and not cut us off from our most important trading partners.
We’ll be running campaigning sessions four times a day at 11am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 6pm from Tuesday April 25. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time, someone will be there to explain how it all works.
So there are three things I need you to do.
- If you can’t get to a polling station on the June 8, register for a postal or proxy vote. You can get all the information on how to do that here.
- Sign up to the campaign here Let me know if you can help by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Put up a garden board or poster in your window. You may still have one from 2015 or if not, sign up for one at email@example.com and we’ll get either to you as quickly as possible.
