Event to be held to celebrate one year anniversary of Port Sunlight River Park

It has been a very successful first year for the park and it will be an opportunity to not only celebrate the one year anniversary but also the success the park has achieved since it opened.

Over the last year the park has won a Land Trust award for most improved space, and hosted events such as a viewing day during the arrival of the Three Queens on the River Mersey.

I’d like to thank the Wirral Autistic Society and all the volunteers who have helped over the last year, but also appeal for new volunteers for the first anniversary event who feel they could spare some time on the day to help.

This is very much a community space and local people have played a big part in its success so far.

I would also like to thank the Port Sunlight River Park Friends Group and the park’s committee for all their commitment and hard work, and the park’s ranger Anne Litherland who has done a fantastic job.

If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer and helping with the anniversary event please contact Anne Litherland at Anne.Litherland@wirral.autistic.org

People attending the anniversary celebrations are encouraged to bring a picnic. The event will run from noon-4pm, before which there will be a 5k run starting at 9.30am.

Additional disabled-only car park spaces are available if pre-booked at the Mersey View car park.

You can a book your space by contacting Anne as above.
