I know that many of my constituents regularly enjoy a meal or a drink at one of our local pubs.
In my experience, we have some excellent local hostelries.
So, once Westminster breaks over the summer, I wanted to make myself available to constituents, and find a way to give South Wirral pubs a publicity boost.
That’s why I’m setting out on a summer tour to meet constituents in South Wirral’s local pubs.
I will be visiting 20 of our pubs including in Bebington, Thornton Hough, Eastham, Port Sunlight, New Ferry and Bromborough. I’ll be there for a few hours to see anyone who wants to stop by.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to have a relaxed chat with people to hear their thoughts on both national and local issues. Nothing is off the agenda. You can ask me anything – controversial or otherwise – or just tell me about what matters to you.
My summer tour will start at the end of this month and continue for around four weeks.
I hope to see as many people as possible so do come along if you are able to. If you have a particular issue you need my involvement with or want to tell me something that you feel strongly about, then my office can tell you when I will be in a pub near to you.
Meeting constituents is one of the things I enjoy about my job the most as I can only do a good job in my role if I know what matters to people so I can take that back to my work in Westminster.
I am also looking forward to meeting the staff working in the local pubs which are often at the heart of the community.
You can find out exactly where I will be and when by telephoning the office on 0151 645 6590 but you don’t need an appointment. Just turn up and say hello.
