Calling volunteers for next Friends of Port Sunlight River Park meeting

I am delighted to be writing this column as the re-elected MP for my hometown. Thank you so much for all your support. It is a privilege to continue to represent the residents of south Wirral. I would like to thank everyone who has shown me support during my campaign for re-election, and for great kindness - whoever you voted for.

Now the election is over I am getting ready for the next meeting of the Port Sunlight River Park Friends meeting. Since its opening the park has been a wonderful asset to the area and the work that goes on there by dedicated volunteers is to be applauded.

However we will always be grateful for any new volunteers who want to get involved on the site and I would like to extend an invitation to this meeting to anyone who would like to come along to find out more about the possibility of volunteering.

You can RSVP by telephoning 0151 645 6590 or emailing helen.dodd@parliament.uk

The event takes place on the 21st May at The Lyceum in Port Sunlight starting at 7PM. If you would like to join a healthy activity at the park you can join the health walks which are now held there. The health walks run on Tuesdays between 10.30-11.30AM and Wednesdays between 5.30-6.30PM. For further information you can contact Anne Litherland on 07587550060 or email anne.litherland@wirral.autistic.org

The meeting place is the car park on Dock Road North and you are asked to arrive 10 minutes earlier to register.
